Settle in.
Download the app for your computer. On Mac, unzip and move Alouvi into Applications. On Windows, open the installer. Then open Alouvi and sign in.

On Mac and Windows, updates download quietly. Open the progress menu at the bottom right of Alouvi, then choose Restart to update when you’re ready. On Linux, replace the AppImage manually.

What’s newPreview 0.2.22
Reading now works through your Alouvi account, including the Free plan. No separate provider account or API key is needed. Translation and text processing use the same secure Alouvi connection. A new first-launch sign-in screen and four-step tour help you try a paragraph and learn your computer’s shortcut.
Intel and universal Mac packages join Apple silicon. Windows has a single installer that chooses the right processor. Linux gets its first experimental x64 AppImage.
Updates on Mac and Windows now stay inside Alouvi, with quiet progress and a restart button you control. There is no floating update pop-up.
Intel Mac and Linux are new targets awaiting device testing. Preview features continue to improve; platform differences are listed with each download.

Download the latest package for the same computer. Close Alouvi before replacing the Mac app or Linux AppImage; the Windows installer will guide you. Keep your existing Alouvi data folder to retain readings and settings.
Readings stay on the device where you made them. Signing in on another computer does not move your local history.
Which processor do I have?
The main Mac and Windows buttons already cover both supported processors. For a smaller file, check Apple menu → About This Mac, or Windows Settings → System → About → System type.
Linux requires x86-64, also called x64 or AMD64. This build does not run on ARM Linux or 32-bit systems.
Trying the Linux Preview?
Save the AppImage, enable “Allow executing file as program” in its file properties, then open it. It requires FUSE 2 and a desktop audio service. If your distribution blocks the package, don’t disable its security protections; send us the error and distribution name.
Begin with text pasted into Playground. This experimental build needs native testing, including sign-in handoff, desktop integration and audio. It is not yet a replacement for the Mac or Windows selection experience.
